Courses:

The courses fall mainly under two categories:

( A )One year Post Graduate Diploma  Course on” Remote Sensing   & GIS Applications”

 

( B ) Six Months Certificate  course for teachers & research scholars on “ Remote Sensing & G.I.S Applications”

 

Course Objectives:

The courses are designed to introduce the student to the rapidly expanding fields of R.S & GIS techniques. The course emphasizes the potential of data capture to a GIS from remotely sensed images that may be used as an interdisciplinary approach to spatial decision-making and problem solving.

Each course consists of both a lecture and ‘hands on’ laboratory sessions each week.

Admission requirements:

(A)  For  P. G. Diploma course:-

·        Minimum Qualification:- Hons Graduate /Post Graduate in any discipline from a recognized University.

·        Course Fee:- Rs.16,000/- per student per annum

(B)   Six months Certificate Course:-

·        Minimum Qualification:-  Post Graduate in any discipline from a recognized University.

·        Course Fee:- Rs.8,000/- per student

 

 

Intake in Each Academic Session:

 

(A)For P.G Diploma course:-  15 seats

 

(B)Six  months Certificate Course:- 10 seats

Application Software:

The main software system used in the laboratory will be : EASI/PACE, SPANS, MAPINFO, ARC/INFO, ARC VIEW

 

Library:

CRSA Seminar Library is a specialized scientific library on R.S & GIS. The library is open to all students and staffs & supports the education and research.

 

Accomodation :

Outstation candidateswill get the accommodation in University Hostel.

 

Rules for Registration & Migration Certificate:

The candidates who have obtained their post graduate degree of North Bengal University will be required to mention the Registration number along with the session.  The candidates who have obtained their post graduate degree from other University will be required to submit the Migration Certificate.
